The Complete Picture Framing Kit

Once we realised that our framing clamp sets made clamping so easy, it was only natural that we turned to the next most difficult part of picture framing. Sourcing all the parts!

In this kit you'll get everything* you need to make your very own custom picture frame.

 *this kit requires a Japanese Pull Saw, a Clamp, and a Drill to complete.

The Base Kit:

• Ash Picture Frame Profile pre-machined to a picture frame profile and ready for mitres to be hand cut!
• Picture Frame Marking Templates for getting the perfect measurements every time. 
• 1x Basswood Backboard (3mm Thickness) laser cut to size, for the rear of the frame.
• 1x Clear Acrylic Panel (2mm Thickness) laser cut to size, for the front panel of the frame.
• 1x Ivory Picture Frame Board for a border within the frame.
• 1x Wire Picture Frame Stand for supporting the picture frame when stood upright.
• 8x Picture Frame Back Fasteners for holding the acrylic, picture frame board, picture, picture frame stand, and hardboard in place.
• 2x Picture Frame Wall Mounts for mounting your picture frame flush to the wall.
• 1x 10ml Glue Bottle for gluing those mitres together!
• 1x Basic Sanding Block with 120 & 180 Grit Paper for sanding the mitres after gluing.
• 1x Finishing Wax Pot to enhance and protect your newly completed picture frame!

The Complete Kit

• Everything from the Base Kit PLUS...
• 4 Sided Picture Framing Kit for clamping the wood frame together whilst gluing (with 4x 300mm rods).
• Picture Frame Mitre Jig for easy cutting of 45 degree mitres on the ash wood (designed for a fine, 0.3mm kerf, Japanese pull saw).
• 10mm Brad Point Auger Drill Bit for drilling the sockets for the picture frame back fasteners.
• Non-Slip Mat to ensure your Picture Frame Cutting Guide doesn't slip whilst cutting the mitres and to prevent movement whilst sanding after gluing.

*Tools required to complete the frames but not included in the packs:

• Japanese Pull Saw - We designed the cutting block to fit a very narrow blade. The slot itself is only 0.4mm in width with the ideal width of saw blade sitting around 0.4mm-0.6mm. Please ensure you use a blade with a similar width kerf and a spine along the back of it to prevent flex. We currently recommend this saw.
• Clamp - So long as you own (or get) a clamp that can fit into a 50mm wide area and can reach 30mm from the edge of a work surface to the top of the wood in the clamp, you'll be fine. For example, these will do the job just fine.
  
• Drill - Whether it's hand cranked or electric, you'll need one to drill the holes in the back of the frame for the back fasteners.
