Portable Drill Guide

Portable Drill Guide

The UJK Drill Guide is an essential piece of kit for almost any workshop.

While these are predominately regarded as being an alternative to pillar drills, perhaps the most overlooked (yet best use case for them) is having the ability to take the drill to your work, rather than bring your work to a fixed drill. This is essential when drilling plumb holes into surfaces that are too large, heavy or awkward to fit under a stationary pillar drill.

The drill guide can be used with almost any drill, which is a major advantage over other drill guides, and has in built stops for drilling to accurate depths, and adjustments to +/- 60 degrees in either direction.

It also features a vee groove in the base for locating cylindrical components, and 4 mounting holes that can be used to attach custom bases.

Matt's Honest Take

This is easily the best drill guide I've ever used. It's well built, fully adjustable, and can accept a variety of drills. When drilling at 90 degrees, you can be fairly undiscerning about which bits you use (Just don't use auger tipped ones) But at angles beyond 30 degrees, you really need to ensure the drill guide is clamped securely, and you're using bits that can drill at acute angles. Usually this is where sawtooth bits excel, whereas normal forstner and brad point bits may not.
