Dovetails in a Day is an in-person workshop course for learning how to mark, cut and fit dovetails with more confidence. It gives you a concentrated day at the bench, with practical guidance and a clear skill to take back into your own workshop.

A five-day course for building a refined box

The Keepsake Box Course is an in-person workshop for making the Keepsake Box from start to finish. The week gives you time to practise accurate parts, careful assembly and thoughtful finishing while building a project that feels personal and complete.

A workshop day shaped around you

Join us in the Newbury workshop for a day of tuition focused on what you want to learn. Get to grips with sharpening, hand tools or machinery, tackle a troublesome joint, or work on a small project. Come on your own or share the day with up to four others, with a date arranged after booking.

More time to get stuck into your woodworking

Give yourself two to five days in the workshop to develop your skills or work through a project with guidance along the way. There's time to practise tricky techniques, explore machine setup and put what you've learnt into a build. Choose the length and number of participants that suit you; we'll arrange the dates after booking.

Talk through the bit that's holding you up

Get one-to-one advice on your design, a project problem, tool choices or the business side of woodworking, without travelling to the workshop. Sessions typically last one to two hours on Google Meet, with a recording and a written summary to refer back to. We'll arrange a time that suits you after booking.

Get help in your own workshop

Arrange a visit for advice on your workshop layout, machine training or help with your own setup. It's a chance to work through questions using the space and equipment you use every day. The initial booking fee is a non-refundable deposit covering the cost of pricing up your bespoke visit; the final cost depends on your location and requirements.
