Visit my workshop and receive bespoke, 1:1 instruction. The course is entirely yours to shape, whether you want to master hand tools, receive advanced machine training, or build a project over multiple days. This is the most direct way to level up your skills in a professional environment.
This course can also be shared with an additional 4 participants at a cost of £25 per head. The maximum number of students on a course is 5.

Sharpening
In addition to covering the core principles of getting a sharp edge on a blade, whether that be a chisel or a plane iron, you will also have the opportunity to try a range of sharpening setups to find one that fits your budget, needs and preferences.
Tool Setup and Use
Once your blade is sharp, I'll show you how to set up a plane to get super fine shavings. This will also be a good time to diagnose any issues with your handplane, as well as how to deal with difficult woods through the use of high angle blades.
Joinery Masterclass
If there's a particular joint that is consistently proving difficult to cut, we can spend a day dialling in your layout, sawing and chiselling techniques to ensure that you can cut it flawlessly every time. If you book for multiple days, we can string these together into a small project.
Machine Training
I can offer bespoke machine training on the machinery I have available such as Bandsaws, Planer Thicknessers, Table Saws and Routers. In addition to using the machines, I'll also talk you through setting them up, selecting blades, and ongoing maintenance.
General Woodworking Advice
While it helps to come to these consultations with an end goal in mind, the sessions won't be limited only to this. So if you have a broad range of questions about woodworking not specific to any one topic, I'd be glad to help!
