Mitre Paring Blocks (Pack of 5)

These work perfectly! I had actually given up on attempting mitres with hand tools, as it was just too frustrating, but I just managed to make my first absolutely perfect mitre joint. Extremely satisfying :)
Just make sure to use a solid and strong clamp, to prevent the guide from slipping back under pressure, especially when working on hard wood. As my clamp wasn't doing the job, my solution was to place a thin anti-slip mat between workpiece and guide. This solved the problem perfectly for me.

Well designed and allows you to get your miters dialed in quickly. I noticed an immediate improvement in my mitered dovetails. Definitely recommend.

I used these mitre paring blocks on a recent dovetail box course. I was ambivalent at first, as I have made my own paring blocks out of scrap, but these are so much more precise. The design is well thought through and once they are clamped in place, they don't move. If you want to take mitred dovetails to the next level, then you need these in your workshop.

Really pleased with the quality of the mitre paring blocks. They make the process of getting a 45 degree angle easier. You need to have sharp chisels with a flat back to creep up to the line. The different sizes will make it easier for large and small mitres.

Cutting mitres can be very stressful: exactly 45 degrees, exactly square and that at exactly the right length.. times 8!

They worked really well. Simple to set up and use, especially if you watch the video. My first test mitred dovetails were quick and easy to make, and the mitres were bang on, straight off the blocks.

Best tenner I’ve spent in ages. Making a perfect pairing jig is a technical challenge if you don’t have access to accurate machines. If you’d rather get on with your project than building another jig this is the tool for you.

Until I got these blocks I made my own jig to pare my mitered dovetails, which is not hard to do—but these blocks are very convenient, not only because I don’t have to cut a precise 45° myself, but (a) they are easy to align with my piece, (b) easy to clamp without the clamp interfering with the chisel, and (c) they are mitered on both sides so I can just slide them on piece instead of unclamping and turning them around.

Honestly my most used gadget to getting my miters perfect. Truly invaluable.

i have not yet used the paring blocks[pack of five] but they are well made and sturdy and will last a long time.

I was very pleased with the design and performance of this paring block. It certainly saves a lot of time making a jig.

Worked great

I intend to use the blocks as a guide to tidy up my mitres when making small boxes. I have had a go on a couple of trial pieces, it works pretty well. Now for a real test on an actual box with 8 mitres to tidy up.

These mitre paring blocks are essential if you with to create perfect mitred corners on your boxes.

Great product, way faster shipping than I expected, and very thoughtful packaging/case as well. Would highly recommend.

I could only wish that my hands & skills were as accurate as this tool... Maybe one day - with tons of practice...

These are a well thought out and nicely made set of jigs to help you cleanly and precisely cut in your dovetails.

Brilliant product I had a wooden one which on thinner stock i had to over hang it on my work top, this is a game changer pick the right size clamp ,boom done perfect.

The blocks are precise and stable enough to allow you to guide the chisels. I confirm that the shoulder (which is the main "improvement with respect to a self-made wood-block) is really helpfull. I got the whole set, and I am happy of having ordered it -althoughit is feasible to employ the blocks also for thichnesses for which they are not optimised.
