Emblem Coins - Gloss Finish
A gloss finish shines brighter than the satin due to additional polishing processes leading to a higher contrast result.
Please Note: The images of the Satin and Gloss coins look exactly the same because they are the same. It turns out that getting a photo of a shiny object (and keeping it looking shiny) is harder than it first appears! We will be amending the images in the next week or so to make the difference clearer. In person, the contrast between the 2 is very clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size are the coins?
Each coin is manufactured to precisely 25.15mm in diameter, 4mm in thickness and include a 1mm trench around the exterior of the coin for additional gluing surface area.
This ensures an incredible fit for a 25mm hole and you can be confident the coin will remain in situ.
How quickly will I receive them?
For batches of 10 coins or less, we aim to dispatch them from the workshop within 3 working days.
For batches of 25 coins, we aim to dispatch them from the workshop within 5 working days.
For batches of 50 coins, we aim to dispatch them from the workshop within 7 working days.
What image size and format do you need?
Without getting too technical, so long as your logo looks good on your phone/computer, we'll be able to translate it to a coin.
We've found that even low resolution images have performed well on metal, however if you do have any concerns please contact Rob.

As for the format, pretty much the same thing applies. If you can view it on your phone/computer without any fancy program then we'll be able to use it.
How are the coins packaged?
We package all coins in our usual high-quality cardboard boxes, using custom, laser-cut plywood to ensure each and every coin arrives at its destination without damage.
Do you accept hand-drawn logos?
While we wouldn't recommend sending us hand-drawn logos for engraving, we should be able to get them to work.
However we can only confirm them on a case-by-case basis so please get in touch with Rob, with your logo attached, to find out what's possible.

How do you make the coins?
Well that's a well kept secret that we wouldn't tell anyone.
Except maybe you...
The Blank Coins
The coins start as a brass rod that gets machined down to our specifications by a UK machining firm.
They ship us the blank coins, straight to the workshop in bulk. Ready for the next step.
The Design
From there we take your design, import it into Photoshop and tweak it to better fit the laser software.
This usually means increasing contrast, inverting colours, and occasionally redrawing certain areas of the logo to ensure the correct parts are engraved.
From there, your logo goes to our laser PC and gets imported into the software.
Engraving
We insert the blank coin into our fiber laser, using a custom made jig, to ensure the coin ends up in exactly the right place every time.
Then all it takes is the press of a 'start' button and the laser does its thing.
Roughly 10-25 minutes later (depending on the logo design), we have an engraved coin.
Cleaning
Now at this point the coins genuinely look awful. The engraving process leaves burnt edges that need carefully removing.
We do this with a Dremel and an abrasive wheel to focus on the deepest parts of the coin.
Once complete, we take the coin to the belt sander and gently remove any imperfections off the top face of the coin.
We then increase the grit to give the coins a satin finish. If you chose a satin coin, this is where your coin gets packaged up.
Polishing
But if you chose a gloss finish, then we go even further. Increasing the grit of the belt sander again followed up by taking your coin to our polishing wheel to really bring out that shine.
The coins immediately get placed into a pot of acetone where the polishing compound softens.
We then take the coins out of the acetone and clean off any grease left from the polishing with a lint free cloth.
Packaging
It's at this stage where we take your coin, slot it into our custom laser-cut plywood packaging and box it up ready for dispatch.
And just like that, you've got yourself an emblem coin!
I still have a question that you didn't answer...
We've even got an answer for that... e-mail Rob 😉
