How our Emblem Coins are Made

The Start
The coin is selected to be engraved. All coins are machined to 0.01mm tolerance.

Preparation
Using a combination of 100 and 40 micron Microfinishing Film, the coins have all machining marks removed.

Comparison
Preparing the coins prior to engraving means we can achieve a cleaner finish later.

Alignment
The coins are then tested under the laser to ensure concentricity. Once confirmed, the coins are engraved.

Engraving
Using our Cloudray 60 Watt Fiber Laser, your design is then etched into the coin over 64 passes.

Output
Engraving leaves burned edges on the top surfaces. On larger batches we get all coins to this stage prior to finishing.

Buffing
Using an abrasive disc we gently remove the burned edges and brighten the background without removing detail.

Finishing
The buffing marginally rounds the corners. A final lapping sharpens the corners for flush fitting.

Completion
With the coin now complete, we laser cut the foam packaging and dispatch the same day it was engraved.

I normally don't write reviews, butin this case I have to make an exception 🙂. I have just received my custom emblem coin. When I opened the box I was amazed by the result. Super quality. Perfectly engraved. The background ( in my case the wood texture ) was very beautiful, the logo was very clear and even the small letters were very easy to read. I will definately order more when I need them, and I recommend the coin to everybody. If you want superior quality, you will find it hete. You will not be disappointed.

I ordered just a single emblem coin to give them a trial run on a Keepsake Box I am planning as my next project, so I thought why not? To my surprise the quality and exceptional design completely surprised me to the point I was, initially, blown away by this innovative item.
Needless to say, I will now be ordering a few more for projects old and new (they are easily retro-fitted!) and can highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a touch of class to a project or gift.

Very pleased with ME's emblem coins. They are well made, finished very nicely and include a thoughtful built-in 1mm relief trench around the edge of each coin to increase the surface area and help assure secure gluing into place. And a massive thank you to Rob Harvey on Matt's staff for the close coordination and attention to details to get my logo on the coins as desired!

I was attending the Keepsake box course, Rob provided me with my emblem coin, which I had previously designed. I was so pleased with the absolute quality of the coin that I instantly asked Rob for another 10. He came back a couple of hours later with the most beautifully presented set of coins. The Royal Mint would be happy if they could produce coins as good as these.

I've received my order for several of these coins and they are beautiful. during the process I was sent an email with a picture of how they would look. I was very impressed - and Robs attention to layout and detail is second to none. I got a couple of emblem coins to add a personal touch to a couple of projects. They are very nice brass, laser engraved coins that add a bit more class than your typical maker's mark. I got 2 different backgrounds to experiment and they both turned out beautifully. Rob worked with me to get the logo placed correctly on the coins. There was a very fast turn around after I placed my order. I will be ordering more in the future.
