Looking for that perfect finishing touch to your project? An emblem coin is exactly what you need.
Over the past year, we've explored and purchased numerous brands and styles of maker coins, yet none have truly met our expectations.
The issue lies in our commitment to perfection. If the engraving isn't crisp, the logo isn't perfectly centred, or the finish lacks consistency, we're dissatisfied.
So, we decided to create our own.
Each coin is precisely (and intentionally) 0.15mm oversized in diameter ensuring a flawless fit in a hole drilled at 20mm or 25mm. We've also incorporated a 1mm trench around the exterior edge to increase surface area for gluing.
Every coin is precisely engraved and hand finished to 600 grit to achieve a perfect satin finish across every coin.
We recommend using a Fisch Wave Cutter for the coin sockets, although other bits may provide just as good results.
Both the 20mm and the 25mm Emblem Coins are 4mm thick.

How our Emblem Coins are Made
-
Start
Select the coin to be engraved. All coins are machined to 0.01mm tolerance.
-
Preparation
Using a combination of 100 and 40 micron Microfinishing Film, the coins have all machining marks removed.
-
Comparison
Preparing the coins prior to engraving means we can achieve a cleaner finish later.
-
Alignment
The coins are then tested under the laser. Using a magnifying glass to confirm accurate alignment before the design is engraved.
-
Engraving
Using our Cloudray 60 Watt Fiber Laser, your design is then etched into the coin over 60+ passes.
-
Output
Engraving leaves burned edges on the top surfaces. On larger batches we get all coins to this stage prior to finishing.
-
Buffing
Using an abrasive disc we gently remove the burned edges and brighten the background without removing detail.
-
Finishing
The buffing marginally rounds the corners. A final lapping at 400 grit sharpens the corners for flush fitting.
-
Completion
With the coin now complete, we laser cut the foam packaging and dispatch the same day it was engraved.
The Laser in Action
This coin took roughly 15 minutes to engrave.
