Years of development and refinement have finally led us to this moment—we’re thrilled to introduce our NEW plane screwdriver.
Crafted from high-quality woods, including Maple, Ebony, Leadwood, and Walnut, among other exotic woods, each handle is a testament to beauty and durability. These carefully chosen woods not only provide stunning aesthetics but also ensure strength and longevity. Furthermore, if the wood isn't naturally strong, we stabilise it to ensure every screwdriver will last for years to come.
Every detail has been considered, including the ergonomics, which have been carefully designed to achieve the perfect fit for your hand, making it as comfortable as it is functional. Not only that, but the metal ferrule has been custom designed and produced to our exacting standards by UK machinists.
Each screwdriver is polished with a high-endurance wax finish, ensuring long-lasting protection while enhancing its natural beauty.
We couldn’t be more proud of the result, and we hope you’ll enjoy the quality, care, and attention to detail that have gone into creating your NEW plane screwdriver.

realy handy tool, package is also very nice but I do not think that it will spend its time packed :-)
Matt Estlea wins again. Of course the machining, wood quality and finish, comfort in use, all deserve their own paragraph. But for me the real measurement is this- I show every coveted hand tool to my wife who always smiles and stifles a yawn. When this tool arrived I handed it to her saying "check this out". She plucked it out of it's slick little black shipping box, turned it over in her hand a few seconds and simply said "oh wow...". Congrats, Mr. Estlea.
I was half expecting it to look like Shrek’s knuckle, but no. It’s absolutely beautiful, if there’s a slight flaw I can’t find it! Top tip… buy a pack of puck offcuts and make yourself a little stand.
Nice eye candy for my collection with function as well. Please with my purchase as this is well crafted and feels great in the hand!
Essentially it is a short stubby screwdriver shaped like a door knob. However the quality is top notch and the design of the handle is a lot more natural to hold. If you have ever used a short stubby screwdriver or a door knob, you would realise the difference. Short handle offers more control and precision, which results in me not chewing up my expensive plane’s lever cap screw every time I need to resharpen the blade. (which I have done, on many occasions with a regular screwdriver). I have been on the look out for a dedicated plane screwdriver for a while, as there aren’t too many options out there and I chose the desert ironwood because it’s hard wearing and pretty to look at, also the aesthetic fits nicely with my expensive Veritas plane. It’s not an essential piece of kit, but I like my expensive Veritas plane. :)
I bought an ebony screwdriver which was beautiful in every way. When a small crack appeared (wood acclimatisation) I got in touch. That's when the real value of buying from this independent British maker came into its own. Rob was so quick to respond with solutions and support. I am so happy with the tool and I know I can rely on this maker if things are not 100%. If you are thinking about buying - go for it, you are in safe, and very skilled hands.
Really glad with choice of wood.
It has great finish and feel and the grain is fantastic.
This is another beauty in my collection. The finish on both walnut and brass is stunning. A lot heavier than I expected! Cheers Matt
Exactly what I needed. The screwdriver fits well in my hand, does what it is supposed to do.
Excellent craftmanship.
This screwdriver is one of the best tools I own AND one of the most beautifully made. It's a joy to pick up and use each time. It works significantly better than a regular screwdriver for plane screws. After purchasing this and the marking knife, I'm a convert. These tools rival the absolute best, please keep making them. I've preordered the mallet already!
Absolutely beautiful. Very proud to take it out to use it and laugh at other people’s reaction, even rime “where did you get that”
Magnificent. A beautiful tool that I will treasure for the rest of my days
This looks beautiful and is absolutely one of the best Tools in my shop
Well Finished and compact
made from the perfect wood for this purpose.
The most beautiful (possibly the only beautiful) screwdriver I have ever seen, held or used. The weight and balance are beautiful. The shape and feel in the hand are beautiful The grain and finish of the bubinga are beautiful. So is the fitting into the solid brass ferrule which, naturally, is in itself, beautiful. The way it fits onto a plane’s screws, as though it has been merely waiting to be reacquainted with them, is beautiful. There is not one thing about it that is not exactly right. Except that one question nags uncomfortably: no matter how perfect, should any screwdriver - let alone one for so niche a purpose - cost this much? Can any sane person justify the price, which must be pushing the claim for “world’s most expensive”? I honestly don’t know. I do know that I’m feeling something very close to shame at my purchase. I also know that I’m definitely not sending it back.
Sweet. Like using a piece of art to work with!!
Beautifully made. So glad to have it in my till with my planes. What a perfect tool and addition to my shop.
Thanks Matt.
Excellent product.
Until I used one, I had no concept of how useful they are. Not only useful, they are extraordinarily beautiful to look at. A perfect combination of function and form. Mine will not be going into a drawer anytime soon!
I must admit at first I did not want to use this plane screwdriver as it is so beautifully crafted it’s just like a sculpture a piece of art it’s so elegant it feels so good to use it’s got pride of place in my workshop thank you guys for producing it after all you went through to get to the final product.
Beautifully crafted tool.
Great tool.
Beautiful workmanship, lovely to use, makes me wish I had more planes.
This screwdriver is gorgeous. The wood itself is beautiful but the fit and finish and craftsmanship are just extraordinary. Sure, it's just a screwdriver but great care was taken in shaping and finish it. I feel uplifted every time I pick it up and I have secured a prominent place for it in my hand tool cabinet so I can catch a glimpse of it every time I pick up a tool.
