Statum is a Krenov style cabinet that is made to both display and store personal items. All the shelves are fully adjustable and the cabinet curves away from the user giving a sense of the furniture wrapping around them.
It is made primarily from Walnut, both solid and veneer, and includes two beautiful book matched Spalted Beech door panels.
The drawers were traditionally crafted using lapped dovetails on the front, through dovetails on the back, and a sliding Cedar base. This provides a wonderful aroma when the drawer is opened, coupled with the lemon oil that the other surfaces within the drawer are finished with.
The cabinet is finished in 3 coats of Osmo Clear Satin Hardwax Oil.
This was one of my early projects that I filmed for YouTube and can be watched here.
