Finishing The Cabinet

This lessons objectives:

In this video, I show you how to apply a finish to the cabinet. If you've sanded the cabinet to a high standard, this should be a somewhat foolproof stage, especially if you're using an easy to apply finish such as oil. However thicker, tackier finishes such as lacquer and polyurethane may be more troublesome.

Personally, I love using Osmo for 99% of my finishing tasks. It's a durable, easy to apply formula that combines the easy to apply properties of oil, with the wonderful surface finish of wax.

It's quite expensive compared to your traditional finishes such as Danish Oil or Boiled Linseed, however it goes a very long way. You only need to apply 2-3 very thin coats and you'll have a professionally finished piece with minimal fuss.

If you'd like to know more about finishing with Osmo, watch the video below.
